The Launch of the charity took place on Saturday 26th November 2016 at the Queensborough Community Centre.
The event ran from 5 to 10:45pm. It was made possible by the generous support of United St Saviour’s Trust.
The Deputy Mayor of Southwark, Charlie Smith, opened the event which included a workshop on domestic violence, with the participation of many distinguished and experienced speakers.
There were tables for associations dealing with domestic violence, where attendees obtained information and advice.
We also ran a session for children, as children are also victims of domestic violence and suffer a great deal when it is present in their homes.
We had excellent media coverage. Networking and advice formed part of the friendly and informative evening.
2nd ANNIVERSARY EVENT
Our anniversary event was made possible by many generous donations, both of money and in kind.
It was held on Sunday November 26 at The Draper Community Hall.
Lively presentations from Elizabeth Samaniego (SMA), Nancy Liscano (TEUK), Luz Duque (SMA) and Marc Elliott from Millwall Football Club. We are hoping to initiante events with MIllwall in 2018 on the theme ‘Prevention is Better than Cure’. This idea was enthusiastically received by the audience.
